At Elli's 18 month check up the pediatrician told me that we needed to take the pacifier away. This was a dreaded day for me. Elli loves her pacifier just as much as anything. She suggested letting her have it only in her crib, which means only at nap and bedtime. I wasn't ready two months ago but now I am! So, at 20 months Elli is only getting her pacifier in her crib. So, the deal is, she can have her pacifier if she is in the crib even if it is not nap or bedtime, so during the day she wants to get in her crib for twenty minute intervals to get some good sucks on her pacifier. It cracks me up! She totally understands what is going on. She gets in her crib sucks for a while and then when I get her out she puts her pacifer back in the crib. She use to call her pacifier "pass", but now she says something that sort of sounds like pacifier, more like "pass-fur". We were going to the store yesterday and I was telling her the things we needed to pick up. After I listed a few items she said, "and pass-fur". Poor girl! She really loves her pacifier. She will survive and I will let you know how the story goes on. This picture is of her having one of the pacifier times during the day.
